2. General information and website hosting

This policy covers matikusgames.com, a website operated by Matikus, Lda. under its Matikus Games brand, and enquiries sent to our company contact address. Our product websites provide separate privacy notices for their own features. This website has no user accounts, checkout or contact forms.

The website and its Twitch status service are hosted on Hetzner infrastructure in Helsinki, Finland. Our web server and hosting infrastructure process technical connection information to deliver and secure the website. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, the requested page, response status, referring URL, and the date and time of a request.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interests in delivering a reliable website, preventing misuse and resolving technical faults. Connection information is necessary to serve the website. Further information is available in Hetzner’s privacy information.

3. Locally hosted fonts

Fonts and images are served from this website. Displaying our pages does not connect your browser to Google Fonts. Your browser may cache these files as part of normal page delivery.

4. Twitch status service

The website retrieves public stream-status and activity information from our service at twitchapi.matikusgames.com, also hosted by Hetzner in Helsinki. Requests transmit technical connection data, including your IP address, to that server. They do not connect your browser to Twitch or transmit your Twitch account information. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in displaying current stream status and aggregated activity data (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Twitch and Ko-fi embeds

Content from Twitch and Ko-fi is not loaded automatically. It is loaded only after a visitor actively selects the corresponding load button. When enabled, the visitor’s browser establishes a direct connection to the selected provider. The provider then receives technical connection data, including the IP address, and may store or access cookies or similar information on the visitor’s device.

The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable rules on terminal-device access). Consent applies only to the current page visit and is not saved by this website. You can withdraw it using the unload control or by reloading the page; earlier processing remains lawful. Unloading stops the embedded content but does not erase cookies already set by the provider. 6. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your sender address, message, attachments and technical email metadata to answer your enquiry. Hostinger provides our company mailbox and processes correspondence as a technical service provider. See Hostinger’s privacy information.

Depending on the subject, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or requested pre-contractual communication, or Article 6(1)(f) for our legitimate interest in answering other business enquiries. We handle requests to exercise GDPR rights under Article 6(1)(c).

Contacting us is voluntary. We need a reply address and enough information to answer your question; without these we may be unable to help. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

7. Affiliate links and other external links

This website contains links to external services, including Amazon, pCloud, Twitch, Ko-fi, YouTube, Discord and Linktree. No connection to these providers is established merely because a normal external link is displayed. When you follow a link, you leave this website and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored where applicable.

8. Cookies, analytics and advertising

This website does not set its own cookies or use local storage, session storage, analytics tools, advertising networks or tracking pixels. Third-party content that may use cookies or similar technologies remains blocked until you actively load it.

9. International transfers

Website hosting is in Finland, within the European Economic Area (EEA). Email delivery, provider support, subprocessors and external content you choose to load may involve processing outside the EEA. The server location alone does not determine every processing location.

Hostinger describes its processing arrangements, including standard contractual clauses where applicable, in its Data Processing Addendum. The mechanism relevant to a transfer depends on its recipient and destination. Contact dev@matikusgames.com for information about relevant countries and safeguards and to request a copy. Twitch and Ko-fi describe their own international processing in the privacy notices linked above.

10. Data retention

We retain correspondence while needed to answer your enquiry and complete the resulting follow-up. Information needed for a contract, a legal recordkeeping obligation or a specific dispute may be retained for that purpose afterwards; not every contact message is an accounting record.

Technical records are used to investigate faults and security events. Relevant records may need to be preserved while an incident or legal claim is being resolved. Provider systems and backups must also be considered when handling deletion requests. Contact us for retention information relating to your correspondence or technical records.

11. Your rights under the GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access – to obtain confirmation and a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification – to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure – to request deletion of your data, where legally possible.
Right to restriction of processing – to limit how your data is used in certain cases.

Right to object – to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

No account or special form is required. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity. We respond without undue delay, normally within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, we explain it within that month. If information must be retained, we explain why.

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you through this website.

You may complain to a competent data protection authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) — complaint information and forms. You do not have to contact us first.
